Our Mission

In Southern California—especially throughout Los Angeles County—families of veterans and first responders are often left without clear guidance or timely support when arranging military funeral honors. Time is limited, emotions are high, and funeral homes may not be familiar with military protocols or resources.

Our Veterans Funeral Honors Liaison Program exists to bridge that gap. We work directly with families, mortuaries, and local agencies to simplify, expedite, and coordinate the essential elements of military and ceremonial funeral services. Whether the family has limited documentation or no idea where to start, we step in with compassion and precision to ensure every hero is honored with the dignity they deserve.

We proudly assist with:

At the Veterans Funeral Honors Liaison, we understand that securing an Honor Guard for a memorial service can sometimes be a challenge, especially if families or mortuaries are missing key information like DD214 forms or if the request isn’t placed in advance. Unlike other organizations that may rely on electronic buglers, which can sometimes be unreliable and produce a less-than-perfect sound, we guarantee a live, human musician to ensure the dignity and quality of the tribute.

A bagpiper will perform at the airport upon arrival of the plane carrying the veteran—to receive and honor the fallen hero, at no cost to the family.

At Veterans Funeral Honors Liaison, we proudly coordinate Firing Parties, also known as 21-Gun Salutes, to honor veterans and first responders during their memorial services throughout Southern California and Los Angeles County. These meaningful tributes are performed by local American Legions and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) posts, ensuring a dignified and respectful farewell for those who served our country.

The 21-Gun Salute is a revered military tradition symbolizing the highest honor for the fallen. This solemn ceremony plays a vital role in military funerals, paying tribute to the sacrifices of our heroes. We collaborate closely with local American Legions and VFWs to arrange these ceremonial honors.

Supporting Local Veterans' Organizations

While Firing Party services are offered for veterans’ memorials, a small donation is requested to support the American Legion and VFW posts providing these honors. All donations directly aid their ongoing operations, enabling them to continue serving the veteran community with necessary logistics and resources.

Assisting Families with DD214s and Military Records

At Veterans Funeral Honors Liaison, we understand the importance of securing the necessary documents to honor your loved one's military service, such as the DD214. These documents are essential for obtaining military honors, burial flags, VA headstones, and VA cemetery reservations.

We Provide Resources and Communication for Families Nationwide

While we proudly serve families throughout California and the Los Angeles area, our assistance extends to all 50 states for military record retrieval and DD214 requests. No matter where your loved one served, we are here to help facilitate these important document requests, often obtaining the necessary records within minutes.

Collaboration Is Key

To make this process successful, we require the assistance and cooperation of the decedent’s next of kin and the funeral home involved. Their participation ensures we have the necessary information and authorization to proceed efficiently.

No Cost to Families

Unlike other organizations that charge fees to retrieve these vital records, we provide this service completely free of charge. We believe these records are a right, not a luxury, and we are honored to assist families in securing them at no cost. Although donations are never required, we gratefully accept them to help sustain and expand this service to other families in need.

Pre-Planning for Veterans at No Cost

At Veterans Funeral Honors Liaison, we offer veterans the opportunity to pre-plan their burial arrangements at no cost. Veterans are entitled to a free burial at any national cemetery that accepts human remains. Our mission is to make this process as smooth and straightforward as possible.

Our experienced counselors are available to guide veterans through the pre-planning process without requiring health diagnoses, hospital visits, or other potential obstacles. Reserve Your Plot at No Cost

By pre-planning, you can reserve a cemetery plot at a national cemetery—or a local cemetery of your choice—completely free of charge. This service is available to veterans who wish to prepare in advance, and we are honored to help manage these important arrangements.
